| WT songs are always the best way to find strength or help. Somebody hurt me alot so The Cross really relates to me. 'I keep wondering why I’m still calling your name through my tears Why have you waited to embrace me my dear? Cold is your silence, denying what is real I’m still wondering why I’m still calling your name my dear' Plus the 'ah' s are just |

| This song should be worshipped on a daily basis. Anyhow, I'm listening to the one in BS right now, I think I like The Cross just as much live as on the CD. And I've been picking apart the lyrics more, trying to pick out what's it about. Even after that it's still really open-ended. _________________ ~Walk away if it's for yourself, but stand up and fight for someone else.~-set by Andy- |

| The Cross was the first song from THoE that got my attention more. Some weeks ago I was listening to it very often, also because of the relation to the lyrics. Now I think I just over-listened this song a bit. But generally, it's a very addictive song. _________________ Set by Andy. Thank you!Venia ad vitam aeternam Non mihi, non tibi, sed nobis |

| Yeah in an interview someone where it was mentioned that the 'ah's were like mocking and laughing at someone. Which really changes the meaning of the lyrics. It's like they hurt you and betrayed you, but now you're stronger you can get your revenge. Well not revenge, just growing from it and being better. I cant explain it without going fully into it's meaning for me. |

| I never felt the 'ah's this way... Actually it didn't mean anything special to me. Now, what you all said about it... it may change the meaning of the lyrcis to me. _________________ Set by Andy. Thank you!Venia ad vitam aeternam Non mihi, non tibi, sed nobis |

| I think the lyrics still hold the same meaning for me. But now it's looking back and laughing at the person that hurt you. Because you are stronger and better than they can ever be. So you're just laughing at how pathetic they are. I dunno still holds the same for me, just changed now I moved on from the situation. I sound so cryptic |

| Hm. That actually makes sense. I've always love the ' ah's, but I never thought of it like that. I've always seen The Cross as a really fucking painful song, because that's what it's always been to me. To me, it's just asking why. Why the hell did you do this to me? I guess that's why I really can't make myself see it the way it was probably meant to sound. It just sounds painful to me. You can purify it all, answer my call just sounds like a cry out to me. _________________ The Cuisinart of AVM Are you scared to forgive? Are you afraid to live? Are you afraid to die? | I see it the same as you Andy that it's a really painful song. But now looking back you can kind of laugh at the person because you are stronger and they cant hurt you anymore. |

| Sorry for DP. I'm kind of seeing The Cross as more desperate and painful at the moment than a revenge song. I guess you can interpret it how you want though. The chorus sounds pretty desperate though. It's just the 'ah's that change the meaning really. The acoustic one sounds a lot less sarcastic. It's more delicate and vunerable I guess. Maybe thats why I'm getting a more desperate feel to it. One of my favourite WT songs. I hadn't listened to it in ages before today. |

| I've always seen it as a desperate and painful song. That's how it's always show itself to me. The 'ah's actually sound like crying or screaming to me--not laughing. _________________ The Cuisinart of AVM Are you scared to forgive? Are you afraid to live? Are you afraid to die? | I love The Cross! It's definitely on my Top 10 Favorites! I love everything about it; the lyrics, the transitions, the tempo, the "feel", the "ah's", the instrumentals, everything! I don't know, but I feel like the beginning of the song starts a lot more slower, delicate, sensitive, "sad", and more vulnerable (and I think it was done purposely) because the more it advances and the closer it gets to the end, it gets more powerful, dynamic, it feels faster, and more determined. And I feel that that's what makes this song so powerful and awesome! I can't really explain it, but point is, I love this song so much! _________________ Thanks ANDY!"
