| Oh, I just love Jane Doe! Brilliant song. Andy's interpretation sure does make sense, but to me the lyrics got different, personal meaning. And Sharon's dancing live at the beginning is amazing. | |

That and he damaged his voice. Just look at the difference between Jane Doe at Eindhoven and The Dance at Lowlands.

| They did, at the fanclub day I do believe Sharon said something about the song (maybe Fanclub magazine or something?) *dashes off and grabs WT binder full of information, flips pages* - Quote :
- 'Jane Doe' a woman who can't remember who she is, or a dead female body whose identity is unknown.
The demo (or original) title was...:'Run Away'. Not very original, so we came up with a new title after writing the final lyrics for the song. When the lyrics had to be written, Robert and I felt that they should be rather dark, so the words would fit the dark atmosphere and rhythm of the song. Besides my passion for fantasy books, I also watch a lot of detective series on TV (the English TV series are the best, in my opinion, and I'll go to great lengths not to miss an episode...), and 'Crime Night' on the Discovery Channel. After watching so much TV (research...), it was not difficult to write the lyrics for 'Jane Doe'. The song is about this psychopathic guy who, during a moment of weakness, brags to his new girlfriend about the dark side of his soul and all the evil things he's done. Since she only knows his quiet and good side, she doesn't believe him at first, and even teases him a bit about the things he's told her. Something snaps inside of him, and he kills her to make sure she'll never tell another living soul about his dark secrets. he dumps her body in a lake, after attaching a bag of stones to it, so it doesn't start floating. Ever since he's killed her though, her face haunts him, and he can't forget the expression she had on her face the moment she died. Her voice is talking to him in his mind, asking him constantly: "Was this the only way?" Her murder is totally different from all the murders on strangers he's committed before. He feels that it might be a sign of bad luck, and he fears his true nature might be revealed soon. The bag of stones wasn't attached to the body properly, and gets loose. Her body starts floating. Someone discovers the body, or rather what's left of it. Since the police don't know her name yet, she'll be called 'Jane Doe' in the meantime. Her killer made too many mistakes though. Now it's just a matter of time before he gets arrested by the police. On the song itself, it's pretty awesome!! I'm not gonna lose faith in the growls, who knows? Maybe they will have one as a b-side track!! Sharon said something about that in an interview I watched one time. Maybe Faceculture? Either way that would be amazing

| I do like this song. I love the acoustic guitar intro and Sharon sounds so beautiful on it. It's not a fave, but it's recognizable and definitely good | |
