It's funny how her singing voice sounds completely different when she talks. She has a Dutch accent when she talks, she doesn't have one when she sings

I know! I've noticed that too, and I think they're both beautiful and awesome!
Every time I hear her accent or laugh, it makes me feel all...fluffy in the inside; it's irresistible and i love it!
What would my perfect woman be like!? It would be Sharon! Both physically and in personality!

Her voice is very hmm...contrasting , so. Once she sings very delicately (Somewhere, Our Farewell, Never-ending story... ), sometimes very strongly (What Have You Done, The howling...) and high (The promise, Jillian...) hmmm... yes. Sometimes really very softly (Word of make believe, In perfect harmony...) and squeaky (Believer, Running Up That Hill...), but ever very clear. It's gold voice

Perfect! Agree with the styles and songs! Kudos!

The key word is UNIQUE.If you listen to WT for just few seconds,you will recognize the vocals whenever you hear them.

the emotion!!!! the woman has so much emotion in her voice, that makes any other singer seem cold

It leaves me speechless everytime! if im listening to her i feel like im listening to a voice of an angel it brings me to tears happy ones! i get goosebumps sometimes its like listening to pure heaven lol i get so many emotions running through my body sends me into a shut off mode i leave the real world and go into a different world when i listen to this beautfiul woman!

I like the fact that she can do a lot of things with her voice. I mean, if you listen to well, let's say Ice Queen acoustic, the low notes are awesome! Of course, her high notes are even more awesome. I don't know, her voice is just very distinctive and unique. And of course, so emotional, I think she's the only singer who can make me cry just by singing. I love it!

Holy crap. She has a MASSIVE range, and such a sweet and beautiful voice. Just listen to the classical verison of Restless, when she does the "lie lie lie, la-lie-lie-lie"s. Or the acoustic version of Angels (its on YouTube, from I think the fanclub day), that brought tears to my eyes! She is clearly not human, she may resemble one, but I am stating what everyone already knew. Sharon is an angel, a goddess.

She has one of the most enchanting voices I ever heard. I can honestly
say that I truly fell in love with her songs.

She has somehow the
power of being incredibly heavenly (The Cross), evil (The Howling),
powerfull (Ice Queen), hopeless (Frozen), very pure (The Never-Ending
Story) and very mature (The Other Half - Of Me).
It kinda fascinates
me, how she can change of her 'self' - the happy-rainbow girl she
actually is xD - to all this personalities on her songs.

I would
say that she's better as an actress than lots of real actresses out
there. xD

Nevertheless, I must say - as everybody, she has her negative points as well. I think it's something personal, but the one which counts the most to me is that, even being her fan and her voice being very addictive, it also can be very annoying if you listen just to it during a long period.
Before you guys start throwing stones at me, PLEASE, I'm not saying her or her songs are annoying!
It's just that, at least for me, I can't keep listening to the same style/band for too long, even if this band/singer is one of my top favorites; that's how I work: I listen to an style/artist until I take out all they want to show and tell me. After that, I need a break of it, and then I go on listen to something else. And when I miss those melodies, stories and stuff, I just return to them.

After all this WT I'm currently listening to, I'll probably go to something lighter - Madonna or Blackmore's Night, maybe.
They are not as overwhelming nor epic as WT, but as I said, that's the way I work with music.

I think that, while Sharon is definitely not the most technical I have ever heard, she is definitely one of the most emotional singers I have ever heard! I mean, has anyone else heard the acoustic version of the song from PinkPop 2001? She sang it so beautifully and emotionally, just incredible. On top of that, her lyrics are incredibly perfect, a song for every emotion. Even Gothic Christmas! Okay, that wasn't written by Sharon, but still!

To cut this short, her voice is amazing! <3 <3

Is the high part on The Cross pitch-shifted? It sounds like its at least filtered or something. If im wrong and she actually sings that high then her range is more than 3 and a half octaves.


Personally I like Sharons voice because of the different sounds she can get... from light and airy to fairly full and on occasion she can add some grit.

Best singer... no... but prolly my fav female singer

^ If memory serves, the opening notes in The Cross are pitched to create a more eerie sound. I seem to remember hearing that in an interview at some point... unfortunately I don't have a link, so I might be wrong. I think that's the case, though.

It is amazing!! I heard some seriously high notes in some backing vocals in The Cross. I don't know if they were pitched, but they didn't sound pitched! OMS she is amazing

Im pretty sure... it def sounds like it was and she always sings it lower live. Still 3 and a half octaves is pretty good
