She's a lyric soprano, I believe. Either lyric soprano or spinto.

Well, I know all the divisions and such, and to me, she sounds to be a Spinto. But she could also be a lyric soprano. I was just confused on why DOF said "WTH is a spinto when it's at home?"

That's the Irish way of asking "what exactly is a spinto, oh knowledgeable one?" Sorry.

*smacks self* It's alright
A lyric soprano would be Claudia Muzio
And a Spinto soprano would be Leontyne Price
Or Renata Tebaldi

Is there any footage of lyric sopranos/spintos singing non-operatically, cause it's super hard to tell what Sharon is with all these opera singers hanging around. Although, on the backstage stuff on BS, Sharon sings some of Flower Duet (I think..it's Delibes anyway), so maybe those here with teh mad musical skillz can find out through that?

Yes the opera she sings is something like Flower Duet from Leo Delibes' Lakme. Made me so happy hearing that as it's music used in my favourite film The Hunger. I'm not exactly sure if that is the song but that's what it says in the film. I wont go into what scene the music is used in but no-one probably seen it anyways

I haven't watched all the backstage stuff yet; I've mostly been watching the concerts. But I was half-basing it on her warming up in the World Tour Impressions, as well as The Promise. :-\
I'll look some more

I like how Sharon experiments with different techniques... like when she sings Memories live compared to a song like Final Destination, and she sounds good doing all of them.

For anyone who ever says Sharon cant sing they should watch Black Symphony and hear how perfect she sounds during Ice Queen. She had just sang 20 songs and IQ is the 21st song and she still sounds amazing on it.

I know yeah. But this is now my argument to anyone who says she cant sing. I'll just play them Ice Queen Black Symphony. Or her opera warm up

I know and it's the opera from my favourite film The Hunger although it'd sound better with Sharon singing it. Maybe not considering the scene
I think Sharon's weakest vocals are always on The Howling. Not that it's bad, of course it's not, it just seems to be weaker than the rest. I tried singing along though to find how hard it is, and it's pretty hard. Not that I know much about music or terms but it can sound very off if you dont get it exactly right.
Why can I never ever explain things

Although Sharon has a wonderful voice and a vocal range. I know singers that can do powerful voices, growls, operatic, sweet voices everything you can imagine in one. I hate to break it but she can't sing everything.
Sorry, had to put my point across.

I realise she has limitations but so does everyone. I think she is exceptional though to have not had any training and be able to sing with such range that she does. No-one can deny that Sharon is an amazing singer.
