But I’ll tell you about Delain to cheer myself up

Well I got there about 20 to 7 and I was like ‘NOOOOOO!!!! People’ I’m gonna have to push all these people out the way. But for some reason when we got in not that many people rushed to the front. So I was second row with some short lad in front of me. So that was alright. And the people right on the front were clearly HUGE Sonata fans so I don’t mind. Winterborn the first band were not sexy Finns and so that was a let down They weren’t that exciting either. They had about 5 songs and then I was dying waiting for Delain. I was pretty much jumping up and down squeeing while they were setting up. No one else seemed that excited around me. Sander came on to set up his own drums and I kind of felt sorry for him

So Delain The intro starts playing and I’m practically screaming the whole way through it and then they come on and they got a huge welcome. Charlotte was wearing that amazing coat <3 and I just pretty much died when she walked out. She honestly took my breath away quite a few times because she is so beautiful and her body is just incredible. I couldn’t get over it. I really couldn’t see Sander much  but I managed to make a lot of eye contact with Martijn and Ewout and Roel. And Charlotte looked at me quite a few times I was right in front of her And every time they announced what song they would play I was just going crazy screaming and a few other people did too which made me happy. They played Invidia, Stay Forever, The Gathering, Go Away, Virtue and Vice, Shattered, Control The Storm and Pristine. Not my favourite favourites but I love them all <3 And Ewout is amazing at screaming! He blew me away. I really love Control The Storm with just Charlotte singing as well (no offence to my god Marco). I don’t remember what song it was but yeah Charlotte got rid of the coat and came out with the lace top <3 and I can say I had a VERY good view *dies* They got such a good reception though there was just a point where everyone was cheering and Charlotte kept going to talk but we were still cheering and she was just smiling and giggling and thanking us. I really do love Pristine live as well. It’s a really understated song. And I was thinking of Onno when they played Shattered <3 Delain really are just incredible live. When they left the stage  Sander came back on to pack away and so I shouted him and he was like ‘Hi I need to go for a drink’ and then Martijn came on so I shouted him and he waved and me and was like ‘thank you’. And then Ewout came out to hold everyones hand <3 and he held his pick up, slid it in his hand, held my hand and slipped it into mine and I pretty much just died and just smiled at him. I held onto that all night I was scared to put it in my pocket.

So Sonata <3 Their drums have a wolf on which is pretty cool. And then they all come out and Tony comes out <3 <3 <3 Tony is pretty much just a god. He’s up there with Marco to me <3 And their second song was Paid In Full which was the first song I fell in love with and I really relate to it. It was amazing <3 Their whole set was amazing. I have to admit I did look up their setlist so I’d know some of the words to the songs Full Moon’s really good to sing along too and they played Juliet which I love. It’s so inspired by Nightwish like the whole orchestra and the way it’s written is like a Nightwish epic. I love it. On one song Tony did a little waltz with himself <3 and yeah he’s pretty mental just like I imagined. Their keyboardist has a keytar as well And then Tony said he was inviting a guest onstage and I screamed the place down xD I was not expecting Charlotte to come out now Tony’s better. And she did and I died again. Like Last Drop Falls is one of my favourites and I really relate to that right now too. It was just amazing. And then to see and hear Charlotte and Tony together <3 They were holding hands at one point and Tony always has his arm round her <3 it was just incredible. I think I may prefer Charlotte’s version (sorry Tony). Then they played like another 2 songs and then there was a keyboard solo so I was like right I’ll make my way to the back to the merch. And then no one of Delain was over there but I was watching out They played Replica which I love! And then there was the encore and they did We Will Rock You, In Black And White, Don’t Say A Word which I also love and then the Vodka Song xD which is just brilliant. Typical Finns

Rik the tour manager came past at some point and I was like ok I need to wish him Happy Birthday. And then when Sonata were doing their bowing and everything Charlotte, Martijn and Sander come past me and I waved at them and then kind of followed them over to the merch And started talking to them and asked them if I could get a picture with them all. I was asking them about their time in Birmingham, apparently they liked it xD I was like ‘Are you serious? It’s a shithole’ And told Charlotte how happy I was she came on for Last Drop Falls and how amazing she was. And I wished them a Happy Sinterklaas and they were so shocked I knew about it. So thanks for reminding me Onno and they said it was huge in Holland and they’d been celebrating on the bus. And then I was thanking Ewout for my pick, he’s so lovely. So Rik offered to take the picture and me and Charlotte were trying to get Sander over. And then the fucking camera wouldn’t take the picture xD turns out it was on video…typical. So now I have the picture and a 3 second video I went to talk to Martijn because I thought he’s know if they’d be back and he said they will be in like March or April. And he said they went to the canals in Birmingham (which according to my dad are nice) and all the geek stuff and went shopping. And then he was shocked I knew about Sinterklaas and he was asking if this was the 2nd time I saw them and how they had Ronald last time. And then because Ewout was there I he asked if I wanted my pick signed so I was like thanks. Bless him. I think I spoke to Charlotte again and was like OMS your amazing because I just become like really really nervous near her, she’s too beautiful. Like seriously she’s just stunning. I dunno how many times I hugged the poor girl and then I went to speak to Sander for quite a while. He has such a strong accent but he was so lovely and telling me about that the November Rain gig was the last in that church. And Marco <3 and how they’ll be at the US festival with Tarot. He said how they’d all been celebrating Sinterklaas as well. And when they’ll be back. So then I went to leave but someone was getting their ticket signed by Charlotte so I was like GOOD IDEA! So I got it signed and then talked to her some more, hugged her some more and thanked her for writing Frozen and April Rain again and she said that she loves seeing faces in the front of the crowd singing along to every word it gives her a warm fuzzy feeling inside. She’s so sweet <3 and then she said they’d come back to Brum. I was determined this time to talk to her a lot more because I was just in awe last time. And then I went to Roel to sign my ticket but he didn’t have a pen so he got Sander over and they signed it and Ewout and Martijn signed it for me. And then I hugged them all more and because my dad had kept phoning for like 10 mins I decided to go. And then Sander waved to me.

God how much of a complete fangirl do I sound? xD I must scare Delain. But they’re so lovely everytime I thanked them, they thanked me. I just feel like I owe Delain so much. I really do love them as much as WT. Delain have helped me through so much I cant even begin to explain. Yeah I really must scare Delain especially Charlotte

I’ll put some piccys up tomorrow. I haven’t got round to brightening them up.

I still like Layla, if I was forced to have a kid I'd name it Layla Violet. But perhaps a more unique name...like Ziva or Talia? I'm also quite partial to Cassadee and Rosemarie.

Well, since Adiella is a Hebrew name, I was gonna give the new one a Hebrew name too, but I think I'm gonna go with Basil for her. I've been wanting to use that forEVER, but obviously didn't with Ella. And I was hesitant to because that's the name of Emilie's rat. But I think her rat's name is pronounced with a short a sound, like Basil Rathbone.

So I think I've decided on Basil for her <3

I like that. A lot.

Stupid self-centered person threw her/hisself for a train yesterday. Which caused me to be 45 minutes late for the concert yesterday. Stream of Passion and Autumn were playing in Arnhem, which is about 20 minutes by train for me. But there was a "colission with a person" elsewhere on the track right before I entered the station, so there weren't going to be any trains anytime soon. I knew there were buses to Arnhem, so I called my dad to find out which one was the fastest. He couldn't find it of course (should have known...) and someone overheard me and said "there's a bus going to Arnhem over there!" it was at the far end of the station, so I ran, but it already drove away. So I had to wait for the next one to come half an hour later. And the bus is slow because it can't drive on highways. So I arrived 70 minutes later than I had planned.

Alright, for the better parts of the evening. When I got into the venue, Autumn was playing its 9th song (I know that because I got a setlist after ) Their singer, Marjan, looked younger than I thought she was. She didn't really manage to get the crowd along. I think there weren't that many fans. There was hardly a real third row. But I got to hear Satellites, which is my favourite song of theirs

Stream of Passion started a while later. Marcela is such a tiny person... Not so much in length, but her legs, and she could probably fit both of her feet in one of my shoes But, more importantly, she sang very well! Her Dutch has improved a lot since the Live in the Real World, although she switched to English at a certain point. During the first part of the gig I was unfortunate to stand behind a guy who had the tendency to throw his long hair back after headbanging. Let's just say if he had lice, I would have had them now as well. The band got to play an hour and a half, which was very nice for both us and the band, who had been playing the same 30 minute set every night of their European tour. I particularly liked In The End, Out In The Real World and Street Spirit.

When I got back to the station afterwards, I saw that there was a train back to Nijmegen standing on the track. So I ran to it again, to see it driving away - again. Another half hour waiting. Ah well. Sometimes you're lucky, sometimes you're not.

Oh god you did get unlucky with the buses and trains, stupid public transport. Sounds like you had an amazing night though and you got the setlist lucky. Where are Stream of Passion from then?

And well Onno, you know what they say about men with big feet

Stream of Passion is a Dutch band (Arjen Lucassen, mastermind behind Ayreon, used to be a member) but Marcela is from Mexico.

^ LOL, I'm sorry Onno, but that made me laugh. I could just imagine you running up and down all desperate. But like Kellie said, at least you had a good time once you got there, so at least props for that. I'm sorry about the transportation crap, really. I hope that on your next concert, you won't have this kind of bad luck.
