So I'll mention that I've been camping in the peak district over the weekend. It was pretty enjoyable, even if my brother succeeded in almost getting us lost down a single track road with lots of gates. In the rain.

The best bit was the concert I went to - I saw Hayley Westenra at the Buxton Opera house. It was really good, especially as I met Hayley before and after the concert For those who have never heard of her (Likely all of you), She's a Classical Crossover singer

Other than that, I managed to explore the area a bit, in between the rain anyway. Why is it that it always rains when I go camping?

It does. We were meant to be camping in June at Biker Fest but we eventually didn't as it was bitterly cold and rained buckets the whole weekend.

Alrighty then people, first off, sorry I was off for quite some time. I didn't have internet for over a month and whenever I went over to the activity center (at our apartments where they have computers and internet) the internet was a bitch to use cause it lagged like a motherfucker. So every time I tried to go from one page to another, or site, or whatever, it would hella lag, time out, or fuckin just freeze on me. So yeah, it was frustrating and a pain in the ass. But ANYWHO, other than that shit (let me see what I've been up to this past month...) I moved in to my new apartment, then went to South Carolina for seven days (saw my sister, niece, nephew, rest of family. T'was fun), went to a few parties, drank, chilled, lots of work, then school (fuckin chaos), and...yeah. That's what's up as of now. Second, there's WAAAAAAAAAAY too much reading I have to do to catch up on what's been going on in here, so I probably won't read it cause it'll probably take me hours. BUT, if anything interesting happened during the time I wasn't here, or something bad, or basically anything that's worth mentioning to me about, please let me know. You know, keep me up to date. Third, I fuckin missed you guys. Like a lot. Like hella. Like "Holy shit, I need my daily dosage of Within Temptation forum RIGHT NOW, WTF!?". So yeah, that's that and I really hope everyone here has been doing well, had a great summer, hope you're all doing good, are safe and in good health, are happy and not fuckin stressed, depressed, sad, or angry, or anything like that. It's funny cause it felt like I was having withdrawals from not being here, lol, I really missed you guys and I'm just fuckin glad to see you all again.

Just a small post to describe how I like music and numbers, and the combination of music and numbers. (You may stop reading now.)

As today I reached 1500 Nightwish scrobbles on LastFM, I decided to gather the data and sort all the songs by lead singer. Then I calculated the following percentages:

Tarja: 37.4%
Anette: 34.8%
Marco: 6.5%
Jonsu: 0.9%
Tuomas: 0.5%
Instrumental: 19.9%

I did something alike for WT songs a while ago, and my top 3 was:
1. What Have You Done 6.9%
2. Stand My Ground 6.7%
3. Utopia 6.4%

So I thought I'd share this with you all. For a good year now I've been pondering coming out to my dad but I've been very scared about it because he comes across as homophobic.
Today he asked me outright about my sexuality and told me to think on it.
So I did, and later I told him and I'm damn sure I'm that way. He took it really well which is exactly what I did not expect.

So yeah, now my dad knows I just have to come out to the rest my family next. I'm amazed at how well I handled it too.

Yeah, so I thought I'd just share this with you all. I'm so happy with myself.

^^Woah. That's some really good news Tayla. I'm very happy for you and your family for accepting you for who you are. I bet it was a lot of pressure, stress, and hard thing to do, but I'm very glad you did so. You should be as happy as possible, and enjoy life to the fullest no matter how and whichever way you decide to live it, and no one should ever judge you for it.. People should definitely be more accepting and understanding, and if someone judges you or tries to do so, then fuck them. If they don't want to be part of your life, then it's their loss, not yours. You have to live and love your life to the fullest, and nothing (nor anybody) should stop you from achieving that.

Anyways, like I said, I'm very happy for you and I'm real glad to hear that. But not only should you be happy for yourself, but be very proud as well. You deserve to.

That's great for you Good luck on telling the rest of your family. I actually came out to my parents a couple of weeks ago. (I thought they already knew, but they didn't. Anyway, still nothing to complain about)

That's great Onno I still have no idea if my dad knows I'm gay. I'm sure he's worked it out now if my mom didn't tell him. It's not a process I'd enjoy going through again though.

I've heard, in discussions I've taken part in, that coming-out really is a continuous process since you're always meeting new people, learning new things about yourself. I think it gets easier though, once you start feeling more comfortable and confident. For the better or the worse, telling family and close friends is a one time occurence. A lot of times, people just need time to process "coming-out" since our society does so strong propell its heterosexual agenda.

I actually came out to my mom just last week too, under kind of similar circumstances. I always thought she'd be pretty okay with it, so I wasn't really making an effort to conceal it, and I told myself a long time ago that if she asked me directly I wasn't going to lie. Last week she asked me, and I told her I'm gay. She... didn't take it as well as I thought she would.

In all the coming out I'd done up to that day, I never got any stupid questions or remarks. Figures that I'd then get a whole truckload from one person, right?

According to my mother:
1) It's a choice.
2) It's just a phase.
3) It's because I go to an all-girls school.
4) I don't have enough life experience to know I'm gay.
5) I can't know I'm gay because I've never been with a guy.
6) This revelation is a surprise because I "was always so girly".

What really irks me is that in addition to that she got all "Why didn't you tell me before? I would've been supportive!" And the above comments are supposed to be supportive how? Blargh.

Anyway, that's my story... I don't mean to steal the spotlight, just... since we're talking about coming out.

And now she's trying to atone for it by insisting gay people are somehow superior to straight people. SO. SEE WHAT HAPPENS IN TEN YEARS. It'll be really fun - especially if you buy a house, and four cats and a dog, and have a baby which your girlfriend adopts.
